Varinder Singh Bola joined Oxford Research Group (ORG) in December 2016 as a Trustee. Varinder works for a Whitehall think-tank, specialising in the UK political landscape and policy engagement with political parties on nuclear disarmament and non-proliferation matters. He is a former senior aide to a Member of Parliament. Varinder brings a wealth of experience in policy lobbying and political engagement. He has worked with senior politicians, parliamentary candidates, public affairs professionals, think-tanks, and businesses on a range of political issues, especially in the areas of defence, security and civil aviation policy.

Varinder is also a Councillor and has been appointed a member of the UK delegation to the Congress of the Council of Europe. He serves on its Current Affairs Committee and as the substitute spokesperson on cultural diversity and inclusion. Varinder has worked extensively to build constructive engagement on complex issues. He maintains a strong interest in supporting new ideas for conflict resolution, learning and social inclusion.

Varinder is a former Trustee of Community Transport Waltham Forest, National Union of Students, University of Hertfordshire Students’ Union and currently serves on the advisory board of a national hate crime monitoring project.

Varinder holds a Bachelor of Science Honours degree in Aerospace Technology with Management from the School of Aerospace, Automotive and Design Engineering at the University of Hertfordshire.
