Working with the Conflict Analysis and Research Centre, ORG’s Strategic Peacebuilding Programme organised a successful roundtable at the University of Kent on 01 December 2017. Entitled Yemen: Devising a sustainable process for dialogue and civic engagement, it was attended by some 40 people and brought together Yemeni and international practitioners and academics with British policy-makers from the Department for International Development (DFID), Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) and Stabilisation Unit.

The roundtable provided a space for specialists on Yemen and in peacebuilding to cross fertilise and have a practical interactive discussion around what can be done to improve the peace process through civic engagement. ORG has been particularly pleased to share its Collective Strategic Thinking model for conflict resolution with Yemeni civil society, and is exploring ways in which participants in the long-running Palestine Strategy Group can share their experiences with Yemenis. A write-up of the event, held under the Chatham House rule, will be published in the New Year.

ORG has published several briefings and reports on Yemen since the beginning of the current international intervention 1,000 days ago, including:
