Security and Nuclear Power - Secure Energy Factsheet 1

Dr Frank Barnaby
November 2005

This factsheet examines the danger of nuclear terrorism and why new nuclear power plants would increase the likelihood of nuclear terrorism.

The main dangers come from (a) increasing the availability on international markets of fissile materials for building crude nuclear weapons, and (b) increasing the number of terrorist targets.

This is the 1st in a series of factsheets published as part of our Secure energy project.
