InternshipsOxford Research Group offers graduate internships throughout the year. These internships are an ideal opportunity to gain valuable experience working for one of Britain's leading peace and security NGOs. Placements are open to recent graduates, and preference is given to those with a post-graduate degree or relevant experience. Our next placement is for Summer 2008. The placement is due to start at the beginning of July and will focus on assisting with our Recording casualties in armed conflict project. Placements are for 3 days a week for 3-6 months, based in our office near Old Street in London. Interns work three days a week, by mutual agreement, and our preference for this placement would be Monday-Wednesday. The placement is unpaid, but expenses of £10 per day will be offered (£4.50 for lunch and £5.50 for London travel). ORG adheres to the Good Practice Guidelines for Ethical Internships drawn up by the Intern's Network, and interns play an active role in all elements of ORG's work. Initially your days will be spent on a variety of administrative tasks, from arranging meetings and responding to publication requests, to answering the phone and assisting other staff. As your internship progresses, you will be able to get more and more involved in our projects, meetings and publications. You will need to be highly organised, quick to learn and enthusiastic about the issues we work on. The more you put in, the more you will get out! Over the course of the internship you will gain experience in event organisation, media work, project development, fundraising and producing publications, as well as developing a better understanding of the issues we work on and the people involved. We are now accepting applications for this placement. To apply, please download and complete the application form below. The closing date is Friday 13 June and interviews will take place in London on Monday 23 June. Thank you for your interest in ORG.
