ORG's Executive Director, John Sloboda, has recently published two analytical articles on this with co-author Brian Doherty. These follow earlier ORG publications on the motivations of the anti-Iraq War demonstrators of 2003, and a report by the late Janet Bloomfield on making peace and security NGOs more effective. The current articles analyse the growth and transformation of the British peace movement (PDF) from the 1950s to the present day, and argue that contemporary conditions offer unique challenges for united and effective civil society activism (PDF). Honorary Treasurer (Trustee)Wednesday, 9 January 2008ORG is looking to recruit an Honorary Treasurer to join the Board of Trustees and oversee our finances at a time of transition and growth. The appointment requires a commitment of approximately one day a month and is for a period of up to 3 years. The position is voluntary but expenses are paid. |
